Grammer Post #3

Affect and effect. What's the difference between the two words. There are so many times that I will be sitting at a computer writing a paper and I will come to a road block not knowing if I should use affect or effect. So, tonight I decided I needed to learn how to use these two confussing words.
The website that I went to explained that affect is a verb and effect is a noun. The website also said, "When you affect something, you produce an effect on it. Even in the passive voice, something would be affected, not effected." So now I know that the action of something is the word affect and the outcome of the action is the effect.
